Tom L. Farris

“I embrace being an idea-driven artist –teaming with all media, mixing media, experimenting, and discovering with techniques, rules and traditions, as I work though each idea to evolve it into an artistic life of its own – providing direction for the development, best medium and full-expression of each piece.  I create art that may be serious, funny, thought-provoking, and challenging, from abstract to impressionist – letting the idea lead the way.  My work draws upon all my senses as I try to tell a story with each piece.  I am equally at home at the drawing board, easel, workshop, computer, on location, developing sketches, reworking ideas, crafting models, engineering prototypes, and creatively thinking each idea from conception to reality.  Multi-tasking is integral to this idea-driven creative process required in being a 21st century renaissance man.”
